What kind of vitamin is good for a 42 year old woman?
I cannot take anything with iron because it causes constipation, but I feel I need some type of vitamin. Do other women around this age take vitamins? Any comments or suggestions are welcomed. Thanks!

It really depends on your health. If you are healthy, it cannot hurt to take calcium with vitamin D. It helps to prevent bone loss when you get older. But, due to the constipation from iron, I would just take 1 or 2 calcium tablets a day – which would be about 500 mg. Calcium can cause constipation as well if you take too many. Potassium helps with constipation as does plenty of water and fruit.
I am 51 and take all kinds of vitamins, too many to list. Please don’t waste your money by buying them from a vitamin store, you will pay top dollar. I get all my vitamins from vitacost and they are great. I am sending you the site, it’s the best one I have found on line and have been using them for years. You can find out anything you want to know and what vitamin is used for what. Real good site. You can get different brands but their brand is NSI and are just as good if not better than most name brand, also much less money. So check out the site and see what you think.
